Aluminium Sliding Door with Mosquito Net Panels

Aluminium Sliding Door with Mosquito Net Panels

Strong Frame. Clear Airflow.

An aluminium sliding door with mosquito net panel pairs a sturdy aluminium frame with a sliding insect screen built for the same opening. The glass door handles security and weather, the mesh panel handles ventilation, and the two work on parallel tracks. This combination is standard in modern UAE villas and apartments, and we build both new units and retrofit screen panels in our Dubai workshop.

If you already have the door and only need the screen, our sliding door fly screens page covers retrofit panels. This article covers the full aluminium door plus net panel setup.

How Net Panels Fit Into Aluminium Frames

The net panel is a lighter aluminium frame carrying insect mesh, sized to the door opening. It runs in a dedicated screen track set into the door frame, parallel to the glass track. Because it is made for the opening, it spans the full height and width with edge seals that close every gap.

The frame sections are mitred and joined at the corners, then fitted with rollers, a handle, and brush seals. Powder coating matches the main door frame, so the panel looks like it belongs rather than like an afterthought. White, black, bronze, and grey are the common matches.

Sliding Configurations

The most common setup is a two-track door: one glass panel and one screen panel. Slide the glass open and the screen shut for ventilated, insect-free air. Slide both open for the full opening. On wider doors, a three-track system adds a second glass panel, and the screen can serve either side.

For very wide villa openings, two screen panels meet in the middle with a sealed meeting rail. Each panel stays light enough to move with one hand, and the center seal keeps mosquitoes from finding the join.

Strength and Security Considerations

The aluminium door itself provides the security. Locking points on the glass panel, and optionally on the screen panel, hold everything shut. The screen panel can carry its own latch so it stays closed when the glass is open, which stops it rattling in the wind and keeps children or pets from sliding it aside.

Screen mesh is not a security barrier. It keeps insects out, not intruders. For ground-floor doors where security matters, the glass door stays locked and the screen is used only when someone is home, or a security grille is fitted separately.

Matching Existing Aluminium Doors

When the door is already in place and only the screen is being added, matching matters. We note the frame color, profile style, and track layout at the measurement visit and build the panel to blend in. Most UAE aluminium doors use standard profiles, so a good match is usually straightforward.

Where the existing door has no screen channel, we fit a slim secondary track inside the frame. It adds minimal depth and does not interfere with the glass door’s operation or with curtains and blinds.

Repairing Net Panels Over Time

Net panels are built to be serviced. Mesh can be replaced in the frame when it tears or sags, rollers can be swapped when they wear, and handles and latches are standard replaceable parts. A panel that has served for years can usually be refreshed for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

We repair panels from other makers as well. If the frame is straight and the track is sound, new mesh and hardware bring an old screen back to full function. The quote is free at the measurement visit, so there is no cost to find out whether repair or replacement is the smarter move.

FAQ

Can you add a net panel to my existing aluminium sliding door?

In most cases, yes. We measure the frame at a free visit and build the panel to fit, using the existing screen channel or a slim added track.

Does the net panel lock?

It can be fitted with a latch that holds it shut. It is a convenience latch for wind and pets, not a security lock. The glass door provides the security.

Will the screen work with tinted or double-glazed doors?

Yes. The screen runs in its own track and never touches the glass, so any glass type works with it.

How do I clean the net panel?

Brush the mesh with a soft brush or vacuum it, and wipe the track with a damp cloth every few weeks to keep the rollers running smoothly.

Do you make the full door as well as the screen?

Yes, our workshop builds aluminium doors with integrated screen channels for new builds and replacements, as well as retrofit screens for existing doors. Call +971 52 443 2655 or WhatsApp.
