Call it a mosquito net, a fly screen or an insect screen — in Dubai it's the same need: open windows and doors, moving air, and nothing biting. The difference between the nets people search for and what we make is the fit. A loose or DIY net sags, gaps at the edges and gets taken down within a season. Ours are framed screens, made to measure in our Dubai workshop for each door and window, sealed at the edges, and fitted by our own team — mosquito nets that stay up and work for years.

Doors are the bigger entry point — far bigger than windows. A door opens fully, many times a day, and every opening lets the room's mosquitoes in. That's why “mosquito net for doors” is the most-searched term in this market, and why door screening is where we tell people to start:
If you screen one thing first, screen the door you open most.
| What people search | What it means |
|---|---|
| Fly screen | The aluminium-framed mesh panel we build in our workshop. The standard name in the UAE trade. |
| Mosquito net | The name most Dubai households use. Same product: fine mesh that keeps mosquitoes out of bedrooms and living rooms. |
| Insect screen | The same product, common with European expats. Fitted to windows, doors and balconies. |
| Fly net | Informal name for the mesh screen, usually meaning a sliding door screen. |
| Net for windows | Either the mesh material itself or a fixed window screen. We make both. |
| Mosquito mesh | The woven material. Ours is fine fibreglass for windows and a heavier weave for doors. |
Window nets and door nets, each built for how the opening gets used.

Fixed or openable panels for bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms.

Sliding or pleated screens for balcony doors and entrances.

Counter-intuitive but true: dark mesh is easier to see through than light mesh. A dark grey or charcoal mesh reflects less light back at your eye, so the view stays clearer and the screen is less noticeable from inside. Light mesh looks “cleaner” in the roll and worse on the window. We’ll show you both against your own glass on the measurement visit.
Most indoor mosquitoes here breed within a few hundred metres of home: standing water in balcony plant trays and AC condensate, landscaped lakes and irrigation in communities like the Marina, JLT and the Ranches, and shaded stairwell corners. You can’t drain the neighbourhood — but a fitted net means their problem stays outside. Two habits multiply the effect: empty plant-tray water weekly, and keep the screen door closed even for “just a minute” trips to the balcony.
A bed net protects one bed, at night, and does nothing for the rest of the home. A fitted window and door netting system protects every room, all day, and lets you open the house up. We don’t sell bed nets or DIY magnetic nets — we make and fit framed screens. If a bed net is genuinely all you need, we’ll say so on the call.
Many of our fittings are drill-free or minimal-fix — clamped, track-riding or sealed into existing frames — which is why the system suits rentals. Tell us you’re renting and we’ll spec each opening accordingly, and confirm what (if anything) needs a landlord’s or building’s permission before we make anything.
Rinse mesh with a soft spray monthly in dusty months, brush seals with a dry brush, and never oil sliding tracks (oil holds grit — see our repair advice). Torn mesh doesn’t mean a new screen: re-meshing is a standard workshop job. See Fly Screen Repair in Dubai.
