A fixed window fly screen is the simplest screen we make — and for most windows, the best. It's a framed mosquito net, made to measure for one exact window, fitted once and left to do its job: window open, air moving, mosquitoes out. No mechanism, nothing to operate, nothing to wear out. We make every fixed screen in our Dubai workshop and fit them across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.

Slim, rigid profile cut to your exact opening and powder-coated in standard colours.
Fine weave that stops mosquitoes and flies while air passes through.
Clean corner joints with no gaps for insects to find.
The panel clips in and out, so cleaning takes minutes.
If the window opens, we can screen it. Here is how we handle the common types.
The screen sits in the reveal on its own fixings and opens with the casement, or lifts out for cleaning.
A panel runs in a dedicated channel beside the sliding sash. Both move independently.
Top-hinged windows get a fixed panel inside the frame, so the sash opens without touching the screen.
The screen is set to clear both tilt and turn positions, confirmed at the measurement visit.
| Screen | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Fixed window screen | Single panel, made to measure |
| Openable window screen | Hinged or sliding panel |
| Double window screen | Two panels for wide windows |
| Re-mesh window panel | New mesh in your existing frame |
Every screen is made to measure. The exact quote is free at the measurement visit.
The frame clips into the window reveal. The most removable option, and the usual choice in rentals.
The frame is wedged and sealed into the recess for a flush, gap-free finish on windows that stay screened year-round.
The screen sits in a slim track where the window design provides one, so it can slide or lift out for cleaning.
Which method suits your window depends on the recess depth — how much depth the frame sits in. We measure it on the free visit; it's the single measurement that decides the mounting, and the one DIY kits never ask about.
Fixed screens aren't one product. The frame can sit in the recess (flush, least visible), on the face of the frame (where the recess is too shallow), or over the whole window unit (for awkward frames and old aluminium windows).
Combined with the mounting methods above, that's how a "simple" fixed screen is actually specified — and why a made-to-measure screen seals where a cut-to-size kit gaps. One viewing tip whichever type you choose: a dark mesh gives a clearer view out than a light one — it reflects less light back at you.
Flexible, economical, won't dent or corrode; the standard for most homes. If it's ever torn, it's the cheapest mesh to renew.
Rigid and tougher against knocks and pet claws at ground level, and it holds its shape on large panes. It can crease if struck hard, and costs more.
Fiberglass for bedrooms and upper floors; aluminium where the window takes punishment — ground-floor windows, villa garden windows, anywhere a football or a dog reaches first.
Mesh is counted in strands per inch. Standard 18×16 weave stops mosquitoes and flies and is what most homes need. Finer weaves stop sandflies and midges too, at a small cost to airflow — worth it near water and landscaping. Solar and privacy weaves trade a little view for shade and daytime privacy on sun-blasted windows.
Tell us what's actually getting in, and we'll fit the weave that stops it rather than the finest (and stuffiest) by default.
If your window itself slides, the screen is only half the system. Common faults we see on the repair side: rollers worn flat so the panel drags, brush seals perished so gaps open at the meeting edge, and tracks packed with grit. Care rules that prevent most of it:
Vacuum or brush tracks monthly in dusty months.
Oil feels like a fix for a week, then holds grit like glue and grinds the rollers. A dry track, cleaned, is the correct state.
If the window drags, rocks, lifts at the corners, corrodes or cracks at the frame, that's a repair conversation, not a cleaning one. See fly screen repair in Dubai.
Frames are powder-coated, and the standard of a good fixed screen is that you stop noticing it: we match the common UAE window colours (white, bronze, grey, black and standard aluminium finishes) so the screen reads as part of the window, not an add-on. Samples come with us on the measurement visit.
Casement, sliding, awning and tilt-and-turn windows all take fixed screens. If the window opens, we can screen it.
The panel sits in a slim frame clipped to your window reveal. No drilling into the window itself, and it unclips for cleaning.
The price depends on the window size and whether the screen is fixed or openable. Exact pricing is free at the measurement visit.
Barely. The mesh is fine enough that daylight and the view pass through. Darker mesh colours look the most transparent from inside.
Yes. The frame is made to your reveal, whatever the window material, including the aluminium and uPVC frames common across the UAE.
Yes. Unclip the panel, rinse it with mild soapy water, let it dry, and clip it back. We demonstrate it at the fitting.
Yes. We measure every opening in one visit and quote per window, so you can screen the bedrooms first and the rest later if you prefer.
Yes — clip and track fits lift out in seconds; wedge fits are removable with the seal renewed on refit. We'll show you how yours comes out before we leave.
Fixed for windows that stay screened all the time; rollup where you want the screen to disappear or need full access through the window. We make both and will tell you plainly. See rollup fly screens.
The fixed frame is specified for the window type — sliding windows get a panel that runs with the window rather than a static frame over a moving pane. Same product family, correct fit.
The frame is aluminium and effectively permanent in normal use; mesh can be renewed in the same frame if it tears or perishes — it's a re-mesh, not a new screen.
