Finding a Fly Screen Installer in Sharjah: What to Check

A fly screen is a simple product, but the difference between a good installation and a bad one is entirely in the fitting. Two installers can use the same mesh and aluminium, and one leaves you with sealed, smooth-running screens while the other leaves gaps the mosquitoes pour through. Choosing the installer matters more than choosing the screen.

This is a practical checklist for hiring a fly screen installer in Sharjah: what to verify, what to ask, and the warning signs. We are installers ourselves, making fly screens in Sharjah to order in our Dubai workshop, so this is also an account of how we work.

Check 1: They Measure on Site

The single most important check. A proper installer visits your home, measures every opening, and notes the window profiles, track conditions, and how each window opens. Anyone who quotes from photos alone or offers standard sizes is guessing, and guessed screens gap.

The measurement visit should be free. It costs the installer time, but it is the only way to quote accurately. An installer who charges for measuring is either not confident in winning the job or padding the bill.

Check 2: Screens Made to Order

Ask where the screens are made. Made-to-order screens are cut and assembled for your openings in a workshop. Stock screens are pre-made panels pulled off a shelf. Sharjah buildings use too many different window profiles for stock sizes to fit reliably.

A workshop also means repairs are possible later. An installer who makes screens can re-mesh them, replace rollers, and fix frames. An installer who resells stock panels usually cannot service what they sold you.

Check 3: A Written Quote With Detail

The quote should list each opening, the screen type for it, and the price per item or the total with a clear breakdown. Vague quotes that say “full house screens” with a single number hide what you are actually getting and make comparisons impossible.

The quote is free at the measurement visit. You should never pay for a quote, and you should never be pressured to accept one on the spot. A legitimate installer leaves the quote with you and lets you decide.

Check 4: They Handle Repairs Too

An installer who only sells new screens has a conflict of interest when your old screen needs a re-mesh. Ask whether they repair screens, including screens made by other companies. A yes means they will tell you when repair is the better option. A no means every problem gets solved with a new screen.

Check 5: Reachable After the Job

Screens need maintenance and occasional repair. Check that the installer has a real phone number, a website or a business listing, and a physical workshop or office. A mobile number alone, with no business presence behind it, is a risk if something needs fixing in a year.

Our number is +971 52 443 2655, and we are also on WhatsApp at https://wa.me/971524432655. Save the number when the job is done. You will want it when a roller wears out.

Red Flags

Door-to-door sellers offering screens on the spot are the classic problem. The screens are stock sizes, the fitting is rushed, and the seller is gone before the gaps show. If someone knocks offering screens today only, the answer is no.

Payment demanded in full before measurement is another. A deposit after you have accepted a written quote is normal business. Full payment upfront, before anyone has measured anything, is not.

Watch for the vanishing fitter: no business name, no receipt, cash only, and a different phone number every time. Screens are a long-life product. Buy them from someone who will still exist when they need service.

Be wary of the cheapest quote by a wide margin. Screens have real material and labour costs. A quote far below the others means thinner frames, loose mesh, or skipped steps like track cleaning and roller adjustment.

Questions to Ask Before You Book

Ask these five and you will know what you are dealing with. One, do you measure on site before quoting? Two, are the screens made to order or stock sizes? Three, what happens if a screen does not fit on installation day? Four, do you repair screens as well as sell new ones? Five, how do I reach you if something needs attention later?

Good answers are specific. “We measure every opening and the quote is free at the visit.” “Made to order in our workshop.” “We remake it at our cost.” Vague answers, or irritation at being asked, tell you everything.

How Our Process Works

You call or message us and we schedule a measurement visit at your Sharjah home. We measure every opening, check tracks and frames, discuss mesh options, and leave you a written quote. The visit and the quote are free.

If you accept, the screens are made to order in our Dubai workshop and fitted on an agreed date. We test every screen before leaving: full close, edge seal, smooth operation. If anything is not right, we fix it on the spot or remake it.

Afterwards, we are reachable on +971 52 443 2655 for maintenance and repairs, including screens we did not originally make.

FAQ

How many quotes should I get?

Two or three is enough. Compare them on detail, not just the total. A detailed quote that lists every opening against a vague single-number quote is usually the safer choice even if it costs slightly more.

Should the installer be based in Sharjah?

Not necessarily. What matters is that they travel to Sharjah for measurement and fitting, and that they are reachable afterwards. We are based in Dubai and serve Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah as well as Dubai.

Is a deposit normal?

A deposit after you accept a written quote is normal for made-to-order work, because the materials are cut for your home specifically. Full payment before measurement is not normal.

What if I am not happy after fitting?

Say so before the fitter leaves. A proper installer tests every screen with you and fixes issues on the spot. After the visit, call the number you were given. This is why Check 5 matters.

Can one installer handle a whole villa plus repairs to old screens?

Yes, and it is efficient to combine them. The measurement visit assesses old screens alongside new openings, and the quote separates repair work from new screens so you can see both.

Screen the door. Keep the breeze.

Free measurement. Made in our workshop. Fitted across seven emirates.
