JVC asks for two slightly different approaches under one roofline. In the apartments, the balcony door does most of the work: a sliding fly screen for that door is the single most useful screen in a JVC apartment, with fixed window screens for the bedrooms so you can sleep with the window open through the cooler months.

In the townhouses, the patio door is the main opening, and pleated screens suit it well, folding away when you want the space fully open between house and garden. Rollup screens fill the gaps neatly on smaller windows that are opened now and then rather than daily. Because JVC towers were built by many developers with many different door dimensions, standard and custom sizes sit side by side here — even a supposedly standard balcony opening is measured individually before anything is made, so the finished screen fits the door you actually have, not the one in a brochure.

Landscaping and water features nearby give mosquitoes somewhere to breed and rest, so an unscreened balcony door in the evening is rarely left alone for long.
